GORMAN:

James Gorman, born in Dromore, Co. Tyrone, 1817. Emigrated in 1837. Died May 28th 1902. In 1884 Saint John directory he was recorded as a “Victualler, City Market”. He married Margaret MacDonald (1831 – 1904), daughter of James, on January 14th, 1852. Sponsors were John Coile and Mary McCartney.

Patrick Gorman, born in Dromore, County Tyrone, 1799, emigrated in 1836. Died June 1, 1875, from his residence at 148 Brussels Street. Wed Ellen, “…a native of Armour, Co. Tyrone“, b. 1804, d. 26 Aug 1853. Patrick is the great-grandfather of charlie gorman, the skater.

Peter Gorman was born c1834 in Dromore, County Tyrone, Ireland. He died 17 Mar 1909. He came to NB and married, 2 Jul 1857, Anastatia (Ann) English, born [Kallough], County Limerick, Ireland (Couldn’t find Kallough, but there is a Callow, Co. Limerick), c1836. She was the daughter of Patrick and Johanna (Ryan) English. She died 15 Feb 1911. They lived in Saint John, NB.

Thomas Gorman was born c. 1811 in Dromore, County Tyrone, Ireland. He died June 12th, 1870. He came to NB c. 1836 with his wife, Anne/Nancy McQuaid (b. 1816 d. 1872), also from Dromore, Tyrone.
