MCTAVISH:

John McTavish
, born in Scotland, was an officer in the Dragoons who served in the Irish Rebellion of 1798 and was discharged in Glasgow in 1804. He emigrated to the Miramichi in 1806 and settled in Northesk, Northumberland County. His wife’s name was Eliza or Elizabeth, born 1781 in Ireland.
