“You can’t walk alone. Many have given the illusion but none have really walked alone. Man is not made that way. Each man is bedded in his people, their history, their culture, and their values.” – Peter Abrahams
Certainly the Irish have never walked alone – no matter how far from home they have had to travel through the centuries. They have carried with them, and handed down to their descendants, all those aspects that make them who they are, that together form the truth of what it means to be Irish – no matter where you live, no matter whether you have ever stepped onto the ancestral soil or not.
In this section we explore various aspects of the Irish culture and how it manifests itself in today’s modern Irish psyche.
